1. Scope of Our Engagement
Our firm provides a full range of professional services, including individual and business tax preparation and planning, bookkeeping, payroll support, outsourced CFO services, IRS and state representation, and business advisory. The specific services included in your engagement will be confirmed in a separate engagement letter tailored to your needs.
2. Documents & Information We'll Need
To begin, please prepare and share the following as applicable:
- Government-issued photo identification and Social Security or ITIN numbers for all filers and dependents.
- Prior year federal and state tax returns (typically the last two years).
- All income documents: W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, rental income summaries.
- Business records: profit & loss statements, balance sheet, bank & credit card statements, payroll reports.
- Deductible expense records: mortgage interest, property tax, charitable giving, medical, education, childcare.
- Entity formation documents, EIN letter, and prior year depreciation schedules (for business clients).
- Any IRS or state notices received in the past 24 months.
3. Our Onboarding Process
A complimentary discovery meeting to understand your goals and current financial picture.
A signed agreement confirming scope, fees, and responsibilities of both parties.
Access to your private client folder for secure delivery of confidential records.
Draft review, your approval, and final delivery of returns or advisory deliverables.
4. Confidentiality & Data Security
Every client is issued a private, access-controlled document folder. Sensitive tax and financial records are never accepted through unauthenticated uploads. Our staff observe strict confidentiality standards consistent with AICPA professional conduct rules and applicable state regulations in California, Colorado, and Tennessee.
